Impact of 9/11 Toxins 20 Years Later and the Federal Response: September 9-10, 2021
This event was produced by 911 Health Watch Inc., along with the clinics of the World Trade Center Health Program on the 20th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks to discuss the impact of the toxins and the Federal Response and was held at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai on September 9th and 10th 2021.
This program brought together health professionals, legal experts, and journalists, as well as responders and survivors of September 11, 2001.
The Thursday morning program highlighted the health effects of toxins at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the Shanksville crash site and the life-saving medical monitoring and treatment services provided through the WTC Health Program.
The Thursday afternoon program was a discussion about the evolution of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF).
The Friday program brought together the 911 community and the journalists who covered their efforts to pass the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act in 2010, with reauthorization of the WTC Health Program in 2015 and reauthorization of the VCF in 2019.
