Op-Ed: James Zadroga Act at Two Years
On January 2nd it will have been two years since President Obama signed the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act into law.
Time is not always an ally to those who are fighting cancer and other debilitating diseases caused by exposure to toxins. But the past two years have vindicated those who called for and fought for the Zadroga bill.
What is “sequester” and why is it threatening to cut the funding of the 9/11 health and compensation programs?
The short version is that sequestration is the automatic, across the board, budget cut for government programs that goes into effect January 2013, unless Congress acts to delay the cuts or reaches some other agreement to address the federal deficit.
