9/11 National Memorial Museum is hosting dedicated programs and commemorative activities from Tuesday, May 30 through Sunday, June 4 commemorating the 15th Anniversary of the end of the rescue and recovery effort at Ground Zero.

Wanted to share with you a message from Alice Greenwald, President and CEO of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum about events that are planed commemorating the 15th Anniversary of the end of the rescue and recovery effort at Ground Zero.

Dear Friend,

In a few weeks, 15 years will have passed since the day the Last Column, draped in the American flag, was removed from Ground Zero in an honor guard procession. This historic moment commemorated the end of the nine-month rescue, recovery and relief efforts at the World Trade Center site. The courage and fortitude shown by those who worked endless hours for weeks and months at a time, is an important part of the history that we are honored to share at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.

In solidarity with those incredible men and women and their families, it is my privilege to invite you and your loved ones to join the 9/11 Memorial & Museum as we host programs and commemorative activities dedicated to the recovery from May 30 through June 4.

If you or a loved one have previously created a profile with our 9/11 Memorial Rescue & Recovery Workers Registry, please reserve your ticket(s) to the May 30 evening of tribute and remembrance by visiting 911memorial.org/rrtributetix. If you have not yet joined the Registry, please visit https://registries.911memorial.org/#/workers to register now to reserve free tickets for you and your guests. Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for your profile to appear online and for you to receive the registration ID required to reserve tickets.

The commemoration will begin on Tuesday, May 30 with our annual evening of tribute and remembrance. Starting at 5:30 p.m., there will be a special program at the Last Column in Foundation Hall, followed immediately by a ceremony to honor the sacrifices and selfless contributions of all rescue, recovery and relief workers and their families, who made the rebuilding of this sacred site possible. The tribute will also include a moment of silence in remembrance of all those who have died from 9/11-related illnesses.

To learn more about the May 30 tribute and other commemorative activities being held in recognition of the 15th anniversary of the nine-month recovery effort, please visit https://www.911memorial.org/rescue-and-recovery-worker-recognition

I sincerely hope you will join us as we come together to honor this proud legacy in gratitude to all who served and in the memory of those we have lost in the years since 9/11.

Warm Regards,

Alice M. Greenwald
